New Zealand owned and operated, Phototek, based in Auckland was founded in 1993 by Photojournalist Shane Wenzlick. Shane discovered his love of photography picking up a camera at 10 years old. Shane’s skills developed rapidly, reaching a level of professional recognition. His distinct style and design have helped create a photographic eye like none other.

Achieving a Certificate of Graduation in Professional Photography from the prestigious New York Institute of Photography assured the technical aspects of capturing the moment. 

Shane recently undertook the required course training and met the assessment requirements and was awarded the Advanced UAS Remote Pilot Certificate under Civil Aviation Rule Part 101.

Awarded Photographer of the Year by New Zealand Football 2003, 2004, 2007, 2011, 2015 & 2016.

With the rapid growth of digital technology and the changing media landscape, Phototek expanded to include Film & Video services along with Internet based services such as website design & hosting, email services and social media integration & design.

We have a select base of suitably qualified sub-contractors we call on that have proven skill-sets in photography, film production and design.

Our minimalistic business model means our pricing schedule is significantly competitive in comparison to many others. This is largely because our only major investment is in top quality professional equipment & education to ensure we stay ahead of the pack
